Hello I just want to share about this short film as daily or weekly.Because I just want to finish it. If I show something about it , Maybe I can finish this project This short is inspired by one of the true story about mountain and his fear. I’m still working on about character personality and story . There is one word ” Story is King” I hope It will be ok. My deadline is maximum end of january but I already start to model character. I have not use UE4 before , This is first time and I’m still learning this software. I will plan to animate in maya and render with Unreal Engine 4. Actually , I want to make it 360 degree render for Oculus but I dont have oculus yet. For now , I will make it as Short Animation.
Here is some sketches about character.
When I draw to this character , Firstly , I imagine that character looks like big head and chin. But I had really short time to finish this project and then I decided to use adobe mixamo because Mixamo give to you face with blend shape . I do not have experience about face rigging I created my character in the mixamo then exported it to maya . I modeled all cloths and prob in maya.
In final Result look like this.
I used “World Machine ” to create all envirenment and mountains. Before that , I try to model all mountains but this was impossible. I didnt try it before. and Also I try with Unreal Engine but I couldnt be succesfull. and I check to google how to people make this kind of mountain. Answer was height map . I found a lot of height map from Himalaya and K2 mountain and Everest
But it doesnt looks like very well. I didnt like it and couldnt control it . I google it again how I can create good mountain in Cg. I found World Machine. I did not use it before. I watched alot of tutorial from youtube. I learned a bit world machine. I created 32 km mountain area looks like Himalaya.

I put it to unreal engine Final results was impressive for me
Pipeline was terrible between Unreal Engine 4 and Maya, I did not work before with game engine , This was big headache for me , I had alot of problems with blend shape and animation hands shaking. I could not locate character same position in unreal like maya. (I learned it later Because maya use y axis to up, unreal use it z axis to up ) Because of this I had to create my camera animation in Unreal again. it took alot of time.
Anyway , I learned a lot of new things and now I know what I do
Matinee was not usefull for editing for example I already finished my project but I need to cut and change position of shot but this was really diffucult because I had a lot of layers , Lighting , animations etc.
But now there is new tool sequencer It looks like amazing , I am really wondering to use it maybe I can use it next project.
Here is one material instance for climbing wall. There are three material on the wall , snow , rock and ice I use it color mask for that , I can apply wherever I want it But still looks terrible I know it and nodes look like terrible and irregular. sorry about it.

then I learned engine to much and I improve to lighting.
